Young Adult Sailing Camp

A summer they won’t soon forget!

Our young adult sailing Camp is designed for newer sailors—generally aged 12 or older and/or weigh at least 110 lbs.—to learn how to sail at a comfortable pace, with expert instruction, and within a team-oriented environment. Students will learn rigging and basic boat handling, seamanship, and rules by using the double-handed Club 420 dinghies and single-handed Laser.

On a typical day our U.S. Sailing-certified instructors introduce new material in a classroom setting before heading out to spend the majority of the day on the water with students. While on the water, sailors receive group and one-on-one instruction to improve skills and sense of confidence on the water.

As the students learn and grow in their sailing skills together, the instructors introduce: sailing with the spinnaker; adventure sailing; reach lessons,; swimming; sailing games; and other physical activities throughout the day in order to make this a fun group experience for all!

Our instructors are conscious of varied levels of experience and will arrange classes so as to best accommodate all levels of learning. The skills covered in the program provide the foundation for students to be able to move into the Learn-to-Race class.

Students must bring their own lunches and snacks, as well as a Coast Guard-approved lifejacket, change of clothes, water shoes, and a towel.

Fee: $275 per session
